Prodia is associated with the Department of Psychiatry and the Postgraduate Program in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, both at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and based at the Clinical Research Center of the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre.

It is one of the research centers of the international consortium Identifying Depression Early in Adolescence (IDEA). It collaborates with the Universidade Federal de Pelotas; the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN)/King's College London, United Kingdom; George Washington University and University of California, Davis, USA; and Human Sciences Research Council, South Africa.

It has already received funding from national (CAPES, CNPq, FAPERGS) and international bodies (Academy of Medical Sciences, Medical Research Council and MQ: Transforming Mental Health and Royal Academy of Engineering, United Kingdom; and National Institutes of Health, USA).
